Original Webpage Design

In the past, when designing a web page, I would start from the homepage. But this time, I began with the poem section first. This is because, since this is a client website, it does not depend solely on my design concept. I needed to start designing from the simplest part to better understand the website's design perspective. This time, the design is based on Rotten Paradise's original concept and has been improved to make the overall webpage more complete.

The original poem webpage design featured a relatively simple layout, but there were a series of problems, such as the layout being too boring. Therefore, through a chaotic yet orderly layout design, the content can remain clear and understandable while also enriching the webpage's design.

The About and Content pages did not undergo significant changes, as we maintained their original minimalist design style.

Lecture

Client-side development is programming that happens on the user's device, aiming to create attractive websites and user interfaces. It uses languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to make web pages interactive and visually appealing.

Server-side development, on the other hand, takes place on the server and is responsible for managing databases and improving website performance. Developers use languages like Java, Python, and SQL to handle dynamic website functions and link databases to websites.

In summary, client-side development focuses on the user experience and the look of a website, while server-side development manages the backend processes and data. Both are crucial for web development and require different programming languages and skills.

Flip Presentation

Flip Presentation is a website design agency that allows students to present their favorite websites. This will be held in a lecture session, and each week a different group of students will give a presentation. Usually, a group consists of 4 to 5 people. This week, it was my group’s turn to give a flip presentation. The agency I am presenting is called OrangeSoft.

OrangeSoft is a web design agency located in Puchong. Founded in 2007, it has built more than 500 web projects. It is a reputable and reliable web design agency. Their services include Web Design & Development, Web Application, Web Maintenance, eCommerce Development, Business Email Service, and Digital Marketing. This agency has many notable clients, such as the famous MSG company Ajinomoto, Nilai University, and other well-known companies. This enhances OrangeSoft's credibility.

After the presentation, there was a QnA(Question and Answer) session. Among the many questions, one was particularly thought-provoking:

If you need to choose one company to assist you with your assignment, which company would you choose?

This question was answered from the standpoint of us students. Since we are not professional website designers, I chose OrangeSoft as my answer. This is because, unlike most other web design agencies, they use Drupal as their primary CMS instead of WordPress. One of the advantages of Drupal is its user-friendliness, making it a good fit for us to use to build our assignment 3 client website’s CMS. Additionally, Drupal provides better security, which greatly improves the security of the client’s website.
